LGU San Mateo: Rice Achievers Awardee for the 4th Time
The municipality of San Mateo was a recipient of the Rice Achievers Award for the 4th time besting out the City of Santiago as its closest contender. The awarding ceremony was held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) at Pasay City last May 30, 2018 at two o’clock in the afternoon.
The average production of rice per hectare for the year that passed which was contributory to the highest yield recorded in the country was 7.43 Tons.
San Mateo had consistently increased its production in rice for the 2017 evaluation period supported by various program on rice such as School on the Air Program, PRISM, Munggo Production, Technical Briefing/Training, RCM, Model Cluster Hybridization Program and many other programs through the increased IRA allocation and coordination with collaborating agencies such as DA, ATI, NIA, PhilRice, PLGU, POs, NGOs and private companies.
For this year’s award, the Department of Agriculture had included another One Million Peso Cost of Project Proposal as a prize of the municipality aside from the Plaque. The Prize was received in behalf of the municipality by the Hon. Mayor Crispina R. Agcaoili, M.D., and Hon. Vice Mayor Roberto C. Agcaoili, Hon. SB Com. Chair on Agriculture Sherwyn R. Cadeliña and the Municipal Agriculturist, Mr. Emiliano P. Camba together with some of his staff.
