Buntis Congress 2018
The Rural Health Unit of San Mateo, Isabela headed by Municipal Health Officer Dr. Nikki Rose R. Agcaoili in coordination with the Local Government Unit conducted Buntis Congress last March 23, 2018 with the theme “KABATAANG INA PAGBUBUNTIS MO’Y MAHALAGA MAGPACHECK-UP NA!” at the New Community Center of San Mateo, Isabela. The program started with the welcome address given by our MHO, followed by an inspirational message from our beloved Municipal Mayor Crispina R. Agcaoili, MD giving emphasis on safe pregnancy and delivery thus paving the way to a healthy community.
This whole day event advocates safe motherhood to all women and was attended by 111 pregnant women from all barangays across the municipality of San Mateo. A series of Station to Buntis Trip to Good Health were given wherein Pre-natal consultation and risk assessment through lecture with question and answer by Dra. Ves C. Ramones, President of Philippine Academy of Family Physician-Isabela Chapter. Tokens were given to active participants. There are several services rendered per station given during the event, they are as follows: Station trip no.1-free blood typing, CBC, & urinalysis, Station trip no.2-Pre-natal, Station no.3-Immunization, Station trip no.4-Family Planning, Station trip no.5- Nutrition &Feeding, Station trip no.6-Philhealth, and Station trip no. 7-Dental services.
An interesting part of the activity was the BUNTIS BRAIN CHALLENGE through film viewing about their trip to the different stations. 21 lucky participants were picked randomly and each of them gave ideas about the picture presented to them, and afterwards tokens were given to all of them. Also, 15 participants took part in the call a friend and back up question and answer. Each was given a basket of vegetables from JCI San Mateo Balatong.
Lastly, 5 participants showcased their special talents and were given FREE PHILHEALTH sponsored by the LGU AND FREE ULTRASOUND from RHU-LGU. Best Dressed Buntis was also awarded to 3 participants and 1 participant for Orally Fit Buntis. Overall, the event went smoothly, lively, and the participants were very cooperative despite of the challenging brain games that were given. In the end everyone went home happily with each of them having a token.
