The long-awaited Farmers’ Congress dubbed as ‟2018 Farmers’ Congress Reloaded cum medical and dental mission” was finally conducted on March 15, 2018---two days before the town’s Founding Anniversary and was held at the New Community Center. There were more or less two thousand (2,000) individuals coming from the 33 barangays of the municipality who attended the Farmers’ Congress in order to avail various services offered by the Provincial Government of Isabela through the headship of the Honorable Governor Faustino ‟Bojie” G. Dy III.

The Farmers’ Congress is an opportune time long awaited by the San Mateonians to avail of various programs and services offered by the province under BRO such as BRO-Health Card, BRO-SSS, BRO-Education, BRO-LAMFP, BRO-PCIC, BRO-Pag ibig, Paiwi ni BRO, BRO-Lusog, BRO-Livelihood and BRO-Philhealth.

The big crowd that availed of the many services offered at the congress

Various individuals swarmed in the vicinity of the New Community Center to avail of vegetable and fruit trees seedlings, dewormer and other animal health sevices, medical and dental check-up as well as feeding for the undernourished children. Other individuals listened to lectures on disaster preparedness and procedures on how to avail loans inside the New Community Center. Service stations for each BRO program were positioned inside the NCC waiting to serve applicants.

The Honorable Vice Mayor Roberto Agcaoili took the opportunity to thank the good Governor for the financial assistance rendered in the establishment of the New Community Center whose construction was started when the Governor was still a Congressman of the Third District. In his speech, the Governor, seeing the need for the NCC’s completion.
